If the doctor leaves your one ovary intact, no you will not experience menopause. However, if the ovary is taken out as well, you will experience surgically induced menopause to some degree. Everyone is different. Some people need hormone replacement therapy, some do not. There isn’t really anyway to determine how much of an effect it will have on you. I’ve had two aunts go through surgical menopause: one never even noticed the change, the other thought she was “going to die”, ie, hot flashes, mood swings, etc.
As for being painful, I assume you mean the surgery itself. Yes, there is pain involved. There are different surgical techniques used, but they all will include some pain. You’ll be given IV pain medication while in the hospital, then switched to an oral form. You’ll probably go home with a prescription for pain medication. There is a wealth of info here:
I would think it over carefully. If you are 110% positive you will never, ever, never, ever, NEVER want anymore kids, and you can resolve yourself to the fact that there is no way you will ever be able to have another child, then go for it. I say carefully because 28 is young. Best of luck.

GA NIET VOOR CHIRURGISCHE OVERGANG!!!!. Als u uw baarmoeder uit wilt, ga door maar ik zou tegen het verwijderen van uw resterende eierstok bij 28 jaar oud waarschuwen tenzij het, als kanker duidelijk vermeld is. als u uw eierstok nu verwijdert, wordt u geleid voor sommige potentieel grote problemen in de toekomst zover als seksuele libido, osteoporose en hartkwaal, vroege dood. de geluiden als u vereisen een gynaecoloog. Ik ken alle details niet hier, maar u zou het mirenaspiraaltje moeten onderzoeken alvorens u tot chirurgie zijn toevlucht neemt. het is niets plotseling van een mirakel voor deze soorten problemen. gelieve te zien een ervaren gynaecoloog uw opties bespreken. /
